This is one of five cards published by Jonathan Clay, using his own paintings. He is an Associate Member of the Guild of Railway Artists and this large format card (8x6 inches) shows Birch Grove, an E4 class locomotive built by the London, Brighton & South Coast Railway.

No. 473 (currently running in BR black as 32473) spent many years out of service but, now restored, is a useful medium power engine originally intended for branch line passenger and freight work. It is one of several centenarians at Sheffield Park and the only survivor of 75 constructed.
