Preserved Locomotives Stamps on BlueBell Railway Shop

Preserved Locomotives Stamps

This package, of particular interest to philatelists, has been created as a joint venture for Buckingham Covers by the Bluebell Railway, the Avon Valley Railway, the Sir Nigel Gresley Locomotive Preservation Trust, the North Norfolk Railway and Steam, the museum of the Great Western Railway.

The sheet features ten stamps with an interesting assortment of engines. The Bluebell's examples are our E4, No. 473 and the only survivor of its class and the impressive bulk of 34059, Sir Archibald Sinclair. The North Norfolk Railway offers 90775, an example of an Austerity loco - no frills and furbelows here!

There are three GWR representaives - 4003 Lode Star, 4073 Caerphilly Castle and 2516, one the famous famous Dean Goods workhorses.

From the LNER family there are 60007, Sir Nigel Gresley and 65462, a J15 0-6-0 freight engine. The world of the industrial locos is represented by the Avon Valley Railway's 7151, built by Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns, and finally, looking slightly out of place, there's an example of the Deltic diesels, D9009 Alycidon.

This production is a limited edition of 1,000.26.99. It will be posted in a board backed envelope.
