Making Tracks Programmes 3 & 4 (DVD)
Making Tracks was, for its time, unique. Initially shown by the BBC, it introduced viewers to railways from around the world. Presented by Bob Symes, it aimed to satisfy both experts and the general public; the inclusion of Mary-Jean Hasler as co-presenter helped to open up the subject to a female audience.
These programmes include the Middleton Railway at Leeds, steam in the Soviet Union in 1991, narrow gauge lines in East Germany and the Guayaquil Moors Railway in Ecuador.
