On and Off the Rails (DVD)
This is the first of a series of four double DVD sets drawing on the output of British Transport Films, now preserved in the National Film and Television Archive.
The films, in colour and monochrome, range in date from 1951 to 1980 and include Blue Pullman, Elizabethan Express, This is York (a superb record of railways as they were in the 1950s) and John Betjeman Goes by Train. There is an informative booklet with notes about each film and a list of credits. There are fourteen films altogether which means they are a modest £1.42 each! 261 minutes.
