Southern Colour in the Sixties

Terry Cole has been a driver on the Bluebell Railway for many years and has also served as Chairman of the Preservation Society. Currently, in addition to his footplate duties, he is one of the team of volunteers who are recreating the Brighton Atlantic Beachy Head at Sheffield Park.

His interest in railways was stimulated when his family moved next to the line at West Worthing in 1954. In the early 1960s, in common with other enthusiasts, he assiduously chronicled the railway scene, inevitably photographing lines which were about to close. The book includes pictures of the Worthing area, the Isle of Wight, lines to Steyning, Hayling Island and Hailsham plus the Bluebell Railway.
