Branches and Byways - Kent
There is something about branch lines in the days of steam that is universally appealing. Very few seemed to make a profit but they provided a vital service to the rural community, particularly when it came to transporting agricultural produce to the cities.
In his book, John Scott-Morgan writes knowledgeably about the subsidiary lines in Kent and each chapter contains a map of the area. The photographs are outstanding and will unleash waves of nostalgia in those of a certain age!
