Anniversary First Day Cover
This souvenir of our significant anniversary will appeal particularly to philatelists who specialise in First Day Covers although anyone interested in the Bluebell Railway will appreciate it also.
This example, created by Buckingham Covers, shows Stepney at the head of the railway's first train in August 1960 packed with passengers savouring their initial ride on a standard gauge passenger railway operated by enthusiasts.
A roundel on the envelope records that the cover was carried behind Stepney in Maunsell carriage No. 6575 and in addition to the 1st class stamp there is one showing a Bulleid Pacific. This is a memento that will almost certainly increase in value as the years pass.
