Great Britain's Indutsrial Heritage Map 1760-1914
Great Britain's Indutsrial Heritage Map 1760-1914 on BlueBell Railway Shop

The Industrial Revolution, which began in 1760, completely transformed this and other cooutries. Formerly local enterprises adopted steam power and mechanisation grew apace, though not without initial opposition from workers who had to migrate from the countryside to cities in search of employment.

This map shows the principal activities in hundreds of places from the coal fields of South Wales to a humble Dorset village where teasels were grown for use by cloth workers. Over 600 locations are identified and an introduction by Anthony Burton describes the changes that spread from Britain throughout the world.

Old House Books, 2008. Presented in a slipcase.
