Despite the proliferation of DVDs there is still pleasure to be had in just listening to the evocative noise of steam locomotives at work.

The recordings on this album were made between 1959 and 1961 and cover classic locations such as the Licky Incline, the Waverley route in Scotland, Grantham station on the East Coast main line and the Southern at Basingstoke.
