The Bluebell Railway was the first preserved standard gauge steam railway in the country and today it is the only railway in England that is 100% Steam in its operation.
Founded in 1959 the railway relies heavily on volunteer input in all areas of its operation, and all profits made from its commercial ventures are reinvested into the preservation of the rolling stock, buildings and permanent way.
